Br Z Kharwa explained the purpose of the Financial Management programme, is
to manage the day-to-day operations of MPB-KZN and keep it on budget.

Br C Jadwat discussed the Strategic Plan and how it guides the MPB-KZN in the
work that we do and the manner in which we carry it out.
Pre-Ramadhaan roadshow:
This involves engaging with every CC that houses Muslim Offenders, prior to
Ramadhaan, to ensure that their needs are taken care of.
Challenges:
• Shortage of SCW’s.
• At times, the lack of appropriate DCS Officials attending the Pre-Ramadhaan

Report • Awaiting a response from the DCS Regional Office for the production of ID
Cards for Muslim Offenders.
• Not having the required level of access to the CC kitchens to ensure
compliance with Halaal protocols.
• To being able to collect adequate lillah funds to cover administrative costs.
As the MPB-KZN, we are committed to the highest standards of governance and
are very mindful of the principles underlying corporate governance. As such, we
have added the Board of Governors to our structure.

• In order to improve our effectiveness and efficiency, the MPB-KZN divided the
province into Zones, whose boundaries coincide with the management areas
of DCS.
• Aim to improve service delivery.
• Implemented since 2022 and our Spiritual Care Workers will get more
