1. Qiraat-
Prayer • Mln K Suluwale recited from the 30 Chapter of the Quraan

Noble • The verses reminded us that ultimate accountability is to The Almighty.

• After showing gratitude to our Creator Allah (SWT) and sending salutations to
our Master Nabi Mohammed (SAW), Mln Asmal welcomed all to MPB-KZN’s
18th AGM.
• He extended a warm welcome to Mr Thobogale (National Commissioner:

parents and those that were with us last year but are now deceased.

Mln Khatieb welcomed Mr Thobogale, the National Commissioner: DCS.
Mr Thobogale made the following points:
• Getting the offender to reintegrate into society is an extremely demanding
task.
3. DCS • Currently we are a very troubled society and lots of effort is required.
Presentation • GBV is now a pandemic - we need to put our hands together to win the fight.
• Every effort should be made to teach the youth to have respect for the elders.
• Our efforts should not be restricted to places of worship. We need to go out
in to our communities and make an impact.
• We are all a shepherd to our flock; we need to take on that responsibility.
• We need to provide victim support as well as family support.
• We need to encourage reading and make books available for offenders.
Mln M A Khatieb stressed several key points:
• SCW’s are the backbone of the organization.
• SCW’s must touch, move and inspire offenders and we need great leaders.
4. Motivational • MPB-KZN’s and DCS’s Strategic Plans must be aligned as discussed with the
Message DCS Apex team.
• We need to make the right decisions.
• Our purpose is to protect the Aqeedah (Beliefs) of our inmates.
• We cannot build on negative. We need to change to positive and build on the
positive.
