VISION
To be a dedicated organisation that positively contributes to a just, peaceful and
safer South Africa by rehabilitating Muslim offenders and reintegrating them back
                                                      into society.

                                                       MISSION
We aim to promote Islamic values and preserve the Imaan (faith) of Muslim
offenders by promoting Islamic values through spiritual care, educational and
skills development programmes based on the Noble Quran and Sunnah
(Prophetic teachings) at all Correctional Centres in South Africa.

The establishment of close collaboration and partnerships with the Department of
Correctional Services and all other stakeholders to promote and achieve our
objectives regionally, nationally and globally is key.
This will be achieved by educating, inspiring, rehabilitating, transforming and
correcting reoffending behaviour, changing the lives of Muslim offenders to
facilitate their social reintegration, self-reliance, economic independence and
                                                   curtail recidivism.

                                         STATEMENT ON GOVERNANCE

The MPB-KZN is committed to the highest standards of governance, which is
fundamental to the management of public funds, through governance structures to
effectively, efficiently and economically utilise our resources. The MPB-KZN always
acts in the interest of the Muslim Offender, consistent with the requirements of
legislation and policies and avoiding self-interest. As an organisation we are
mindful of the principles underlying corporate governance.

As a non-governmental organisation entrusted with public funds, we are acutely
aware of the stigma of fraud and corruption. To ensure accountability and
transparency, we will annually make available audited financial statements. To date
we have a Financial Delegation and Policy document as well as a Code of
Conduct. In addition, we have appointed external accountants and auditors. Our
Finance Committee ensures that adequate policies and procedures are in place for
                                            optimal financial governance.
